At the beginning of June, representatives of the six technology clusters of Food Pro·tec·ts and lead partner GIQS met at Wageningen University in the Netherlands to discuss and inform each other about the progress of the individual work packages.

Food Pro·tec·ts runs until mid-2020, but the first project results are already visible. Dr. Jürgen Harlizius from the Landwirtschaftskammer NRW, for example, reported on the results of the development of the Oral Fluids technology in Cluster 2 into an early warning system for fattening pigs and was very satisfied with the project results to date. Angela van der Sanden from DLV Intensief Advies also presented the first results of the management dashboard developed in cluster 3, which can be used to link sensors in animal houses and evaluate their data in order to improve animal health in the long term.

In addition to presenting the interim results of the individual sub-projects, the cluster managers and representatives of the lead partner have also started planning the final event of the project, which is to take place in early 2020.

Food Pro·tec·ts is implemented under the INTERREG V A programme Deutschland-Nederland and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, MWIDE NRW and the provinces of Gelderland, Limburg and Noord-Brabant. It is accompanied by the programme management of the Euregio Rhein-Waal.
