Supervisory Board

Elected members

The Supervisory Board consists of up to three members who are elected by the General Assembly. In addition, the Supervisory Board may be extended by up to three additional persons who do not have to be members of the association. The term of office of the members of the supervisory board is three years.

Prof. Dr. Brigitte Petersen

Prof. Dr. Brigitte Petersen was chairman of the association from its foundation in 2001 until November 2013 and deputy chairman from November 2013 until 2014. In November 2014 she was elected to the honorary Supervisory Board. She is also a founding member of the FoodNetCenter of the University of Bonn and speaker of the Clusteroffensive Bonn.realis. Since 1991 she has headed the Department of Preventive Health Management at the Agricultural Faculty of the University of Bonn.

Dr. Helmut W. Saatkamp

Dr. Helmut W. Saatkamp last served as secretary from September 2012 to November 2014. The General Meeting elected him as a member of the Supervisory Board newly created in November 2014. Dr. Saatkamp teaches at the Social Science Faculty of Wageningen University (Business Economics Group); his special field is economic issues in the field of animal breeding and husbandry.

Johan Zandbergen

Johan Zandbergen was treasurer of GIQS e.V. from September 2012 to November 2014. The general meeting elected him as a member of the Supervisory Board newly created in November 2014. He studied Business Administration and Computer Science and is founder and managing director of ChainPoint in Arnhem, the Netherlands. His field of activity is the development and implementation of information systems for Chain Information Management, focusing on quality and risk management and sustainability in agricultural and food chains.
