Internationalisation is also a major challenge for the agri-food industry. National borders prove to be obstacles to transparency, quality improvement and process optimisation. At the same time, questions for research and development arise which can be better answered in cooperation with other organisations. On the initiative of the Universities of Bonn (NRW) and Wageningen (NL), GIQS (Grenzüberschreitende Integrierte Qualitätssicherung e.V.), a non-profit and international network was established in 2001. In the meantime, GIQS has established itself as a strong network in the agricultural and food sectors.
We are partners in value chains and networks in the agricultural and food industries in the planning, preparation, implementation, processing and transfer of the results of joint research and development projects.
Our cooperations take place between science, business and administration and correspond to the public-private partnership approach. As an open platform, GIQS offers all private and public organizations the opportunity to participate.
Members of GIQS e.V. are universities and scientific institutions, public authorities and professional organisations, companies along the food production chain from agriculture to retail, their suppliers and service providers as well as interested private individuals.
GIQS has applied and/or coordinated projects in the following programmes: EU INTERREG A, EU INTERREG C, EU Research Framework Programme, BMBF, BMELV, BMWi (ZIM-Nemo), EU Objective 2 Programmes, BLE Innovationsprogramm, Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank.
