Last Tuesday the official start of the German-Dutch cooperation project Food Pro\u00b7tec\u00b7ts<\/a>, funded with European funds, took place in the southern Dutch city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food Pro\u2219tec\u2219ts stands for “Food production technologies for trans-boundary systems” and was developed to bring high-class technological innovations into the German-Dutch economic area. A total of 18 German and Dutch project partners – companies and universities – from the border region will cooperate in the project until mid-2020, with a total budget of around ten million euros. The seven different work clusters have the objective of jointly developing new technologies and establishing them on the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the kick-off event, which took place in the building of the Province of North Brabant, about 50 representatives of all participating project partners, the donors and the Euregio Rhein-Waal met to get to know each other and inform themselves about the projects of all seven work clusters. “The event was a great success”, said Dr. Oliver Breuer from the project lead partner GIQS e.V. “We also received a great response from the participants after the event. All partners are happy that they can finally get started together after a long preparation”, Breuer continues, who is responsible for the coordination of the project with his team.<\/p>\n\n\n\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n\n\n\n

The thematic focus of Food Pro\u00b7tec\u00b7ts is on the following aspects: Expansion of consumer protection and consumer information, reduction of water and food waste within production, improvement of animal welfare and health as well as new ways of transforming biomass into valuable products such as animal feed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food Pro\u00b7tec\u00b7ts implemented under the INTERREG V A programme Deutschland-Nederland<\/a> and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, MWIDE NRW and the provinces of Gelderland, Limburg and Noord-Brabant. It is accompanied by the programme management of the Euregio Rhein-Waal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
