GIQS in Fruits and Vegetable Chains

The Euregio Rhine-Maas-North is one of the most important cultivation and marketing centers for fruits and vegetables in Europe. This applied research project aims at improving and harmonise chain wide quality assurance systems in fruit and vegetable chains from production to retail across the Dutch German border.

Relevant quality information e.g. about packaging, storage and transport will therefore be collected and be made transparent through a product information system along the whole chain. The detailed collection of quality criteria on each stage of the chain makes it also possible to detect additional strategies for further improvement of product quality and safety. more...
